Corrections policy
When we get it wrong.
A correction is not a weakness. It's the mechanism that makes our reporting worth reading. This page sets out what we treat as an error, how we fix it, and how you can tell us we got something wrong.
Flag an error
If you believe something in a Briefed Daily, Briefed Weekly, or any page on briefedmedia.com is factually wrong, email corrections@briefedmedia.com. Include:
- The edition date or page URL.
- The specific claim you believe is wrong.
- What the correct information is.
- A source we can verify: a document, filing, statement, or named person.
We aim to acknowledge every correction request within one working day and act on material errors within 24 hours of verification.
Material vs. minor
Material corrections (errors that change the meaning of a story, misstate a number, misattribute a quote, or misrepresent a person or company) are marked with a dated correction notice at the top of the story and logged in our corrections archive.
Minor edits (typographical fixes, broken links, style inconsistencies) are corrected silently. We do not log cosmetic changes.
The email edition
Email briefings are immutable once sent. Where a material correction is needed, it appears at the top of the next day's briefing, at the top of the corresponding web version of the edition, and (where subscriber impact is significant) as a dedicated correction note sent to affected readers.
Retractions
Where a story is so materially flawed that correction is insufficient, we retract it. Retracted stories remain published with a dated retraction notice explaining what was wrong and what the correct position is. We do not delete retracted content.
Right of reply
If you are a named subject of a Briefed story and believe the reporting is unfair — as distinct from factually wrong — contact editorial@briefedmedia.com. We take substantive right-of-reply requests seriously and will consider updating or extending the story where appropriate.
Complaints
For complaints that cannot be resolved by correction or right of reply, email editorial@briefedmedia.comwith "Complaint" in the subject. We respond to formal complaints within five working days.
