Category
An intelligence
terminal,
not a chatbot.
Briefed Research sits between a market-data terminal and a research desk. Where Bloomberg gives you price, and a sell-side analyst gives you a quarterly note, Briefed Research gives you live consumer signal in conversation: proprietary stress indices, sector pressure data, and editorial context, queryable in natural language and grounded in named sources.
It does not hallucinate figures or cite news wires. When it quotes a number, that number comes from a named Briefed data source with a timestamp shown alongside. When it quotes an editorial observation, it links to the edition it came from.
Today, it is a Q&A terminal. By the end of 2026, it will also be an autonomous analyst, monitoring your watchlist while you sleep, briefing you before the market opens, and alerting you when a threshold is crossed.
The data layer
Proprietary.
Not web scraped.
The sources Research draws on are maintained and updated by Briefed, not pulled from the open web at query time.
01
CPIx Consumer Pressure Index
The Briefed proprietary composite index. Six underlying components (wages and inflation, consumer credit, labour market conditions, retail demand, household savings, and energy costs) published as a single 0–100 score for the UK and US, updated every 30 minutes.
02
Sector heatmaps
Pressure and sentiment data across the sectors Briefed covers editorially: consumer, energy, financial services, retail, property, and technology. Updated daily; comparable industry-level signal layered on top of CPIx.
03
UK and US macro signals
ONS releases, Bank of England rate signals, real wage growth, and CPI trajectory, processed and contextualised as they land. Not the morning after. Not in a quarterly wrap.
04
Briefed editorial archive
The full Briefed editorial output from launch onwards: weekday Daily, Sunday Weekly, sector deep-dives, and Notes. Every answer that draws on editorial context links to the edition it came from.
How it compares
Where it fits
on the desk.
Briefed Research is not a Bloomberg replacement, a sell-side substitute, or a generic AI tool. It sits in the gap between them.
Bloomberg / Refinitiv
Market-data terminalsPrice, volume, and instrument-level data at roughly £25,000 per seat per year. Excellent for what is trading. Limited for why consumers are stretched.
Sell-side research
Goldman Sachs, Morgan StanleyDeep, but quarterly cadence and conflict-laden. Good for thesis confirmation, not for catching consumer inflections in real time.
General AI tools
ChatGPT, PerplexityWeb-scrape answers with no proprietary data layer. Hallucinate figures. No timestamps. Useful for first drafts; not for citations on a desk.

About Briefed Research
Frequently
asked.
What is Briefed Research?
An AI-assisted UK economic intelligence terminal published by Briefed Media Limited, Manchester. It allows investment analysts and strategy teams to ask natural-language questions about UK consumer behaviour, sector signals, and macro data, with answers sourced from the proprietary CPIx Consumer Pressure Index, sector heatmaps, and the Briefed editorial archive.
What is Anya?
The autonomous research analyst built into Briefed Research. Rather than answering questions on request, Anya monitors your watchlist companies and sectors continuously, alerts you when a threshold is crossed, delivers a structured morning brief before market open, and runs deep-research dives on demand. Launching to Pro and Max subscribers in 2026.
Does it hallucinate numbers?
It is built not to. When Briefed Research cites a figure, the figure comes from a named source with a timestamp shown alongside. If the data layer cannot answer a question, it says so rather than fabricating a response.
How is this different from Bloomberg?
Bloomberg is roughly £25,000 per seat per year and is built around instrument-level market data. Briefed Research is free to start and is built around consumer and macro signal: proprietary CPIx data, sector heatmaps, and editorial context.
How do I get access?
Open the terminal directly at research.briefedmedia.com — Lite is free. Anya is live on Pro (£199/month) and Max (£299/month); Team is £299 per seat per month for desks, minimum 3 seats. Subscribe at research.briefedmedia.com/pricing. Enterprise enquiries: sales@briefedmedia.com.
